Word of Introduction

Dear colleagues, dear friends,
Let us invite you to the XXVth Annual Congress of the Czech Society of Cardiology, which will be traditionally held in Brno, on May 7–10, 2017. Our society makes the extraordinary effort to prepare and organize the Congress as we consider this event the most important part of our activities. Therefore, we will be extremely happy if the Congress is attended by as many as possible of our members as well as participants from among other scientific societies. We wish that the days you will spend in Brno during the annual CSC Congress are filled with lots of useful and practical information as well as pleasant social experiences as every year.

And as every year, we will be very happy if the Congress becomes a forum for the presentation of the results of our workplaces. For these reasons, we would like to ask you for the greatest possible active participation – the deadline for abstract registration is December 21, 2016!!, and again as in the past years it is to be done electrically through our registration online system www.kardio-cz.cz .

The program of the annual CSC Congress 2017 should be full of interactive problem-oriented sections, clear educational presentations, and practical information of "how to do it" character. The program will start early Sunday afternoon with now already traditional live broadcasts from selected workplaces. All work groups and newly formed CSC associations, together with the invited scientific medical societies, will be involved in the preparation of the professional program, program blocks of all sorts of formats with invited postgraduate presentations by our leading experts. These prepared program blocks should cover the entire range of modern cardiology as well as the associated diseases, and are the basis of a high professional level of postgraduate education, provided by the annual meeting to all its participants.

"The best of the Czech Cardiology" block will again publicly present the papers of Czech cardiologists that have been published in prestigious international journals. We will continue the tradition of the competition of young cardiologists, this time with a new format and a significant position in the Congress program.
It goes without saying that in the course of the Congress, it is not possible to physically attend all presentations and blocks. Therefore, we have prepared for you the access to the presentations on the CSC website, with authors' consents. The access will be permitted starting on July 1, 2017. Then you will be able to see them any time.
We sincerely hope that we will be able, with your cooperation, to prepare a highly pleasant framework for this most important scientific and educational forum. We are looking forward to your participation.

The Best of Czech Cardiology

Every year, this section of the CSC Annual Congress presents the best original scientific papers of the CSC members, originated at workplaces in the Czech Republic and published in international journals with impact factor > 2.0 in the previous year. Citations for all registered papers (if they meet the conditions set below) are published in the congress program and several of the best ones (based on the IF value) are presented in a special section within the Congress. The best three papers are awarded by the CSC Committee. Also the papers that are not selected for oral presentation are among the best what the Czech cardiology has produced in the field of research.
Conditions for a paper inclusion in the section:

  • The paper was published in a journal with impact factor >2.0 during the calendar year preceding the given CSC Congress to which it is registered.
  • The paper originated at a workplace in the Czech Republic.
  • The first author is a CSC member.
  • The paper is original, presenting the results of author's/authors' own research (not a review, an editorial, an abstract, nor a case study).

The paper did not originate abroad (e.g. during a stay of a Czech doctor abroad).
The assessment committee will choose the three best papers and their authors will be announced and financially awarded during the CSC Evening Gala (1st place - 50,000 Czk, 2nd place - 30,000 Czk, 3rd place - 10,000 Czk)

The reduced registration fee valid for online registration has to be paid by April 28, 2017. Those who register in advance (online) and do not manage to pay in time will have to pay the higher fee on the spot.

Send the payments for the registration fee to the CSC account only after you obtain the email confirmation of the registration that will include all payment instructions. State your registration number as the variable symbol.

If you require a confirmation on the payment (tax document) of the registration fee (tickets to the Gala Evening, program), you have to ask for it either immediately along with the registration or no later than by the end of the month in which the payment was made. Unfortunately, we cannot satisfy your request later.

If you need an invoice BEFORE THE PAYMENT, it is necessary to ask by email (cks@kardio-cz.cz).

The registration principles are the same for group registration as for individual registration. It is to be done through the online system - "My account" of the person who is entering the group registration.
First, you have to register as an individual (company), then in your congress menu choose "group registration". In this way, you can enter two or more registrations (there is no limit).

When entering the individual members of the group registration you will be asked for their surnames, names, registration type and the request for certificate issuance. Afterwards, the person who is entering the group registration will obtain an email confirmation with all registrations confirmed, and the subregistration numbers of the individual members of the group. Therefore, when paying the registration fee, it is possible to pay for the group under the main registration numbers (as the variable symbol) or the individual members can pay with their subregistration numbers. If the amount received under the main registration number does not correspond to the total amount for the group registration, it will not be assigned to the group. If you pay for a part of the group registration, please inform the organization secretariat which members you are paying for.
